The famous Galion Cranes heritage goes back to Galion Iron Works founded in Galion, Ohio, in 1907 by David Charles Boyd. Galion’s initial product line consisted of culvert pipe, but soon, the company became world famous for their innovative graders that shaped the roads in countries around the world.
Galion developed one of the world’s first hydraulic power graders in the 1920’s and by the 30’s, this technology was the industry standard. In addition to Galion Cranes, the company manufactured rollers, asphalt millers, graders, and other heavy construction machines–all known for innovation, durability and functionality. The company was famous for slogan: “All Roads Lead to Galion”.
